We’re back with a new installment of our ‘Meet the Team’ series. This time, we’re excited to showcase Amy Kelly, our skilled trainee accountant. Dive into Amy’s story with us, exploring her goals, experiences, and the distinctive insights she contributes to our team.

1. Tell us a bit about you and your role at Acclaim.

I started at Acclaim in March 2022 as an administrator looking to gain more experience in an office environment before progressing to my goal of joining the accounts team, which I was lucky enough to fulfil in April 2023. I am now studying for the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA) qualification. My current role at Acclaim as a trainee accountant is preparing accounts for clients, tax, VAT returns, bookkeeping and more.

2. What path led you to your current position?

I’ve always had an interest and a natural strength working with numbers throughout school. I studied business studies, economics and level 3 maths for my A-Level qualifications, these three out of my four subjects have led me down the path to accountancy before starting my role full time at Acclaim.

3. Do you have a talent that would surprise your colleagues?

I’ve always had an interest in art and dance, I studied Art at school and took this as my fourth A-level, achieving an A*. I also took part in a range of different dance disciplines for many years, competing in competitions and performing on stage.

4. If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I’d love to travel to Australia and explore as much of the country as possible or tick off the seven wonders of the world from my bucket list.

5. On a weekend, I am most likely found…

I start my weekend off by going to the gym before meeting/socialising with my friends and family and usually followed by a cosy night in with a takeaway.
