Meet the Team – Amy Kelly

Meet the Team: Amy Kelly

We’re back with another edition of our Meet the Team series! This time, we’re introducing Amy Kelly, our talented trainee accountant. From her journey into accountancy to her hidden talents, here’s a closer look at the person behind the numbers.

Tell us a bit about you and your role at Acclaim.

I joined Acclaim in March 2022 as an administrator, hoping to gain office experience before transitioning into accountancy. In April 2023, I was thrilled to achieve that goal and become part of the accounts team.

Now, as a trainee accountant, I focus on client accounts, tax and VAT returns, and bookkeeping. At the same time, I’m working towards my ACCA qualification to further develop my skills and expertise.

What path led you to your current position?

Numbers have always made sense to me. At school, I studied business studies, economics, and maths at A-Level, which sparked my interest in accountancy. Combining my analytical skills with real-world application, I knew this was the career path I wanted to pursue.

Do you have a hidden talent that might surprise your colleagues?

Outside of work, I have a passion for art and dance. I studied Art at A-Level, achieving an A*, and spent years training in various dance disciplines. During that time, I competed in competitions, performed on stage, and developed a love for creative expression.

If you could travel anywhere, where would you go?

I would love to explore Australia and experience everything the country has to offer. Another dream of mine is to visit the Seven Wonders of the World—a challenge I’m determined to complete one day!

On a weekend, I am most likely found…

Weekends for me start at the gym, setting the tone for a productive day. After that, I enjoy catching up with friends and family, making the most of my free time. To top it off, I usually wind down with a cosy night in and a takeaway—the perfect way to recharge for the week ahead!
